Inside this Issue

BY NJEMILE Z. ALI

In this light and breezy summer edition of KIZA BlackLit, we pull back the curtain a bit on the people who bring the magazine to your inbox each season. All of the literary selections and art in this issue come from KIZA staff members. You’ll get to hear more of our voices and know us just a little more. We’re so happy to be presenting our third issue. Thank you to our readers for your appreciation of our work, and please remember to pass it along, and ask your friends to subscribe. It’s free!

We’re looking forward to bringing you a print edition and downloadable PDF edition in the coming year. Both will be available with a paid subscription. We very much appreciate the contributions that our staff has been making with little to no compensation, while we gain our sea legs. Subscriptions will help to ensure that we can compensate our staff at market-level salaries and contractor fees.

We will also be ramping up advertising in KIZA, focusing on authoorpreneurs, writing and editing businesses, as well as publishing-related and adjacent businesses. Coffee shops, online coffee and tea retailers, artistic venues, event organizers and event spaces, we love you! Let us know who you are and what’s happening in your area, so we can pass it on. We’re working to build the Black ACE—Arts, Culture & Entertainment—to higher heights.

Our advertising rates are reasonable, and designed to build community as much as our revenues. Of course, both are important, so we can remain financially and culturally sustainable. If you are a business person in any of the areas listed above, give us a call at 229.329.2717, or email me at nzali@nlpginc.com.  Let’s create just the right advertising package for you. Yearly rates are available.

Now, grab a cool drink and meander through the articles, literature and art offerings from the staff of KIZA BlackLit and our publishers, Next Level Publications Group, Inc. Cheers!
