Black Theatre Coalition Fundraising Gala

Congratulations to BTC for a very successful Building the Change inaugural gala on February 12, 2024 in New York City. The word on the street is that the event was full of show-stopping performances and inspiring presentations. The organization recently introduced four new fellows who are enjoying the opportunity to participate in productions that will open this season. Awesome. San Antonio African American Book Festival

San Antonio, TX

Monica Brite, founder and organizer of the festival, reports that this year’s was event nothing short of amazing! “I get goosebumps every time I think about it. I felt like, this is why I’m doing this. Over 65 authors from all over the U.S., every walk of life and every genre attended. During the mixer the night before the festival, it felt like everyone had known each other for years. Guests said, ‘This feels like a family reunion.’ The ancestors are truly guiding, supporting and pushing me forward, giving me the confidence to step out and continue this work.” The San Antonio African American Book Festival is held on the last Saturday in February each year. Next year’s date is February 22, 2025.
